It is hard to speak to a stranger about sensitive topics if you don't know she is perceptive, caring, and able to listen. Nothing here can assure you of that, but a little about my education and interests might help.
I have a masters degree in social work from the University of Washington, did graduate work in counseling at Seattle University, and took a year-long course in psychodynamic psychotherapy from the Seattle Institute of Psychoanalysis. My practice approach is based on what is currently known about early attachment, and on current research into the psychotherapy relationship.
I have four children, aged 21 to 34, and one grandchild. My interests outside my career include marriage, family, health, cooking, pets, and hiking when the rain lets up. One day, I hope to get back to my portrait easel.
